about

There is a story that goes with the title and feeling of each tune on this album. This one is a bit of an inside NYC reference. Extra points for knowing.

Hint, it's reviewed on Yelp.

I wanted to use a blues turnaround riff from a Robert Johnson song in this setting. Truthfully, I'd like to play jazz the way Led Zeppelin played blues. In them I hear an amplification of what they valued in their influences. In my mind, it's a blending of those influences with a McCoy Tyner, Nathan Page and Rodney Jones linear concept.

Lineage is always at the forefront of my intent in my writing.
