about

In summer of 2011 Jessica spent the summer in Cherokee, NC. She was a part of an outdoor drama called Unto These Hills, which tells the story of the Cherokee people.

I visited frequently. The town and friends we made hold a dear and special place for me in my heart. I really understood the phrase "home is where the heart is." For three months, Cherokee was home because Jessica was there.

Every time I visited I would write multiple songs. I'd pick up the guitar and have 3 new songs a few minutes later. This was one of them, written sitting on a porch in the mountains of Cherokee, in the balmy summer.
